Posted by Borough Manager on April 8, 2011New Recycling Information
Starting Monday, May 2 yard waste and grass will only be picked up on Thursday and Friday. Please have your cans at the curb on Wednesday evening.
Grass, leaves, shrubs, hedge clippings, and tree limbs are picked up every week May 1 thru November 1 by borough workers. Only open containers can be used. NO BAGS. Grass clippings and leaves may be placed in the same container but other yard waste such as hedge clippings, limbs or shrubs must be placed in a separate container. The Recycling Center will not accept grass clippings and leaves, which are combined with hedge clippings, branches, shrubs, rocks, dirt, or animal waste.
Rocks, dirt, and animal waste are NOT acceptable forms of yard waste and will not be collected. Tree limbs cannot exceed three (3) feet in length and one-half inch in diameter and should be tied and placed at the curb. Hedge clippings and shrubs could be placed in containers. WE DO NOT PICK UP TREES THAT HAVE BEEN CUT DOWN. A MAXIMUM OF FOUR OPEN CONTAINERS, NOT EXCEEDING 30LBS EACH IS ALLOWED PER COLLECTION.
We will not pick up any items that have been left by a commercial contractor. If you use a professional tree trimmer or lawn service, they must dispose of all waste.
We can not take any can that does not meet the above criteria. The Recycling Center will not accept our trucks if they do not meet the requirements of the Center.
